Privacy Policy

Short version: IntelliTab collects absolutely no personal data. Everything stays on your device. The only external communication is the AI API calls you explicitly trigger using your own API keys.

1. Who We Are

IntelliTab is a Chrome browser extension. It is provided as-is, free of charge, with no account creation required.

2. What We Do Not Collect

IntelliTab does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any of the following:

Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
Your browsing history or tab URLs
Your AI API keys
Your learned patterns, SOUL.md content, or tab grouping rules
Crash reports, analytics, or usage telemetry

3. What Stays on Your Device

All IntelliTab data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local), including:

Your AI API keys
Your SOUL.md behavioral instructions
Your learned domain-to-group patterns
Custom grouping rules
Last action context

This data never leaves your browser except as part of the AI API calls described below.

4. Third-Party AI Processing

When you click "Analyze Tabs" or submit AI feedback, IntelliTab sends limited tab metadata (tab titles, URLs, and domains) to the AI Provider of your choice (e.g., Groq, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) using your own, personally provided API key.

⚠️ Important: IntelliTab has no control over, and takes no responsibility for, how your chosen AI Provider processes the data it receives. It is your responsibility as the API key holder to review and understand the privacy policy and data practices of your selected provider (e.g., Groq, Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic). By using IntelliTab, you acknowledge that you are voluntarily authorizing AI API calls using your own key and that the provider is a separate third party operating under their own terms.

5. Permissions Explained

IntelliTab requests the following Chrome permissions:

tabs – To read open tab titles and URLs for AI classification.
tabGroups – To create and manage Chrome tab groups.
storage – To save your settings and learned patterns locally.
host_permissions (<all_urls>) – Required to read tab URLs for classification. This does not allow us to inject scripts or read page content.

6. Children's Privacy

IntelliTab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continued use of IntelliTab after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
